    1997
    RIMS Research Project supports specified fields in mathematics every year, and 1997 will be the year of representation theory in RIMS.
    International meeting of representation theory will be held, and two or three more (relatively small) meetings are being planned. Several foreign researchers will be invited.
    Japanese researchers are encouraged to apply to RIMS's visitor (short or long term) for staying and perticipating the meetings.
  • In fall 1997 there will be a half-year program in Harmonic Analysis at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), Berkeley, California, USA.
